Good News! Money for Technology! Can a little go a long way?
You just received word from technology director at your school that Smart Board training went great! Money is available from the state for technology to be purchased at your school. There has been an overwhelming response from the teachers, parents, and administration about SmartBoards to be installed in the classrooms. You don't have enough funds this year to install three, but there are 24 classrooms, not to mention library/media, gifted interventionist, 3 reading specialist, and 2 math specialist. It is up to you to decide who will get a SmartBoard in their classroom, as well as when it will be installed. New money will be available next year, but the amount is yet unknown. What will be a feasible way of choosing/criteria, and what can be your proposed timeline in meeting the needs of all your teachers?
All trained, now what?
Everyone at your school just recieved Smartboard Training, and they are excited to check out the lab with their classes. One problem... at your school, there are 24 classrooms of students with 1 technology lab that houses 27 computers. You also have one mobile lab at your school with 28 computers. How do you schedule all the teachers for the time that they want? The teachers were given access to Google Calendar, but only the trained understand how to schedule the lab time. Trained on Google Calendar at your school doesn't mean teachers know not to schedule repeated times that may overlap others schedules. Teachers are beginning to arrive at the lab during the same times, etc. As a technology directory at your school, what would you do?
